'Ilgakasė' is the title of long hair contests that are frequently held in different villages in Lithuania. This contest, organized every two years, is in Varena, a little village near the Belarusian border where you feel like being at the end of the universe.
16 girls took part in this contest where performance, overall style and appearance were more important than hair length although some local rapunzels proudly showed their knee length tresses. After the group introduction, the jury had formed a list of random questions for each of the contestants about their lives, hair-care and how they deal with their long hair in everyday life. Creative mothers had turned their daughters into shiny flowers at the avant garde fashion part where they blossomed proudly in front the enthousiastic audience.
